Last night I had the privilege of going to a new girls group here in Reno. We watched the Passion of the Christ since we are in Holy week. It was a amazing and beautiful reminder of what Easter is really about and why Jesus had to go to the cross. A excellent visual image of how much Jesus Loves us. We get so caught up in the "holiday" we skip over the whole reason why we celebrate.
It was my sin that sent Jesus to the cross but it was his Love for me that he stayed. How amazing is that! Why would we not want to worship and give thanks to Him everyday all day after understanding the fullness of His love. It has given me a new understanding of what my sin is and what the cost is for my sin. I want to live like Jesus lived; I want everything I say and do to point back to him. He is the source of everything good and he deserves all the glory!
This week remember the reality of what actually happened 2000 years ago and how that one event has changed history and your life forever. Remember that He didn’t just die for you but He was beaten, tortured and He suffered in order to pay the price for your sin. Then He conquered death and rose again to show everyone that He really and truly was the Son of God and no one not even death its self has power over Him.
